Was today ever going to end? Summer sighed, digging back into her locker for her bag. Ever since she’d started high school, the days seemed to drag on… She didn’t dislike the school, or the people. It was nice to be considered somewhat popular, even though she was only a freshman. Nothing wrong with that though either. The girl may be young, but didn’t look nor act like it, not like some of the other girls she hung around did.
Summer slung her black purse over her shoulder and closed her locker… It was still early in the day and the halls were nearly empty. Mom had dropped her off early on her way to work at the hospital, and now the blonde had nothing to do but wonder the halls. None of her friends would be here nearly an hour before the first bell.
“How stupid am I?” She murmured to herself, laughing a bit. The girl made a left around a corning, pausing for a moment at the closest vending machine to get a water. The machine groaned and clanked, finally spitting out a cool bottle of mineral water. Summer twisted off the cap, taking a thankful drink. She really hadn’t eaten a good breakfast – just gotten up, dressed and left for school. She wore a pair of light washed jeans, a cute red and white polo shirt and a pair of white runners. Her hair was down and straight, a red hair band keeping it back from her eyes.
The young girl leaned back against the hall, wanting a few minutes of rest… She hadn’t slept good the night before, and knowing her luck, she’d be asleep first period – again.

Bethany looked at her mom. "Now, why again did you bring me to school this early?" she asked. She hated having to ride to school with her mom or dad, both sometimes. She sighed slipping down in the passenger seat. "Well I-" her mother started before she noticed Beth slipping down in the seat. "Now sit up honey. I borught you-" Beth jsut kind of tuned her out after that. She looked out the window after she sat back up in the seat. It didn't look like too many people were there. "I'm not getting out right now." she said to her. She wasn't going to get out now and be bored any extra time in the school. "Ok, so let's talk about somethings. Now, about your boyfriend-" her mother started. Oh no she wanted to talk. Beth looked at her then the window then back at her. "Oh, look I just saw Summer." she said gathering her stuff up. She opened the car door and stepped out. "Love you mom." she said before closing the door. She walked up the front steps of the school. Today she was wearing a white thermal shirt that had light blue music notes all over it, a pair of medium grey skinny jeans, with some black flats on her feet. She opened the doors of the school. Pretty much empty. She didn't think that she had ever really seen the school that way. She walked toward her locker. Then she saw Summer. She looked at her quickly as she passed. Then she stopped and backed up. "Summer!" she said to her friend.

Summer really hadn’t seen Beth pass by her the first time; the girl had been off in her own thoughts. But when the brunette called her name, she’d snapped back to reality. A smile spread across her face, as she grabbed her purse and stood up. She’d know Bethany for a while now; the two were in the same “group.” Beth was sweet enough, a little odd sometimes but Summer still enjoyed her company. They’d met back in middle school… Had it been in gym? Not that it mattered right then anyway.
“Hey there Beth,” the girl smiled and went to give her friend a quick hug. “Looks like I’m not the only one here so early. Your mom drop you off again?”
It wasn’t a bad thing that Beth had arrived… Though Summer did enjoy a little solitude, she was never against having someone to chat with. She was naturally friendly and sweet girl, and found it easy to pretty much talk with anyone. It was how her mother was, and how she’d raised her only daughter to be as well.
Summer looked up and down the hall, still amazed at how quiet the school was… Usually the place was a zoo. “It’s so eerie,” she commented, scrunching up her nose. “It’s way too weird.” She smiled then, and took another swig of her water.
